Summer Camps at the Studio for the Arts

All camps are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., ages 6-16, unless specified.  Campers should bring a sack lunch.

(For extended activities from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., or anything beyond 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., add an additional $12.00 to selected camps.)

 

Manners Camp - June 9 to 13 - $48.00

        Learn how to write thank-you notes, introduce yourself and others.  Learn how NOT to eat like a caveman!  Enjoy a "soiree" with your new friends and your parents at the end of the week.

 

Hip-Hop Workshop - June 14 - $15.00

        Get your groove on with California hip-hop, pop, and break-dance professional, Rhythum.  One day only from 10:00 to 3:00.

 

Ballet Camp - June 17 to 21 - $100.00

        Guest instructor, Stacy Hassel, freelance professional from North Carolina, will instruct intermediate ballet students.  Special boys strength training, jumping and turning section while girls work separately with ballet mistress, Andee Evers.  Open to Ballet III, Pre-Pointe and Pointe level students only.

 

Sing and Celebrate - June 23 to 27 - $48.00

        A week of uplifting, positive singing and basic movement leads to a performance for parents at the end of the week.  Campers will do a community service project as they learn how "One Small Voice" can become a choir of change.

 

Cooking Camp - July 7 to 10 - $70.00 (Ages 8 and up)

        Learn kitchen safety, hygiene and more than just how to boil water with Imperial chef Carol Radomski.  You'll make your own snacks throughout the day.  Campers serve their home-made dinners to parents at the end of the week.  (Price includes cooking supplies.)

 

Christmas in July - July 14 to 18 - $65.00

        This is an arts and crafts camp where campers make their own gifts to give away at Christmas time.  Each day is a new gift from the heart.  (Price includes basic supplies.)

 

A Little Taste of Broadway - July 21 to 25 - $48.00

        Guest instructor Elizabeth Bourgeret of Character Productions in St. Louis brings her award-winning camp to the Studio.  Campers learn songs choreography to upbeat Broadway tunes in preparation for the performance at the end of the week.

 

Creativity Camp - July 28 to Aug. 1 - $48.00

        Don't know which one of the fine arts you love the best?  Do them all at this camp.  This year's theme is "The Lion King".  Campers will explore Africa and the arts while being led by King Mufasa or the evil Scar.

 

Drama Camp - August 4 to 8 - $48.00

        Campers learn aspects of acting and stage work as they prepare for a presentation at the end of the week.  Imagination abounds as students work out their own scenes while learning terminology and performance.
